Large White Butterfly - notes.
.....The yellowish green larvae peppered with black, feed on the cabbage(brassica) family in June/July and again in the autumn. The photo shows a female large white at rest on a nasturtium leaf about to lay her eggs and the resulting larvae shown in the inset. The large whites are distinguishable from the small white by their familiar slow, flapping flight. The females are identified by the additional pair of roundish black spots on each forewing.
